Dear NHAA Community,
As you may have recently heard Governor Dewine has made a decision to allow low contact or no contact sports which includes baseball and softball. The Board of Trustees would like to let you all know where we currently stand with the 2020 Season. We sent out communications roughly a week ago that the league would be canceled. However, now with the new orders we are actively working on providing the youth of our community with a season of Summer ball.
The NHAA Board of Trustees is meeting weekly to develop a plan that we feel adheres to all guidelines while providing a safe fun environment to play summer ball and develop the skills of your child. Please keep in mind that this season will look different, and we appreciate your full understanding and compliance with the guidelines set forth. The new guidelines are posted on our website to review.
* each child must have their own equipment
- face covering (for time off the field)
We will be holding a season to run from June 6th through July 31st, Equipment will be allocated to teams on June 6th and practice can commence there after. One week of practice starting June 8th and games will begin on June 15th. We plan to run a league to include roughly 12-14 games this season. We are actively looking at registration numbers and will be formulating teams shortly. We will also do our best to accommodate as many requests as possible.
As discussed in the town hall meeting, the NHAA is projected to run into a deficit this season with loss of sponsorship, lower registration than previous years, and guidelines set by the state. We are projecting a 35% drop in registration and 50% drop in sponsorship. We still feel that we can provide our community with a great experience and season for the children. We put a hold on refunding the full season until we can offer you all the opportunity to play. Registration will stay the same and those that are registered will not have to do anything else. We have opened up registration once again for those that had not yet registered. Please tell your friends. As always we are happy to accept any sponsorship from anyone who is able and willing to sponsor or donate. If you feel uncomfortable allowing your children to play email us directly at email@example.com.
If anyone has signed up with another organization, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have been told by one organization that they would be happy to refund and allow Nordonia kids to play with the NHAA.
We are very excited to be able to offer this to you and your children and are working very hard to get the season underway. As always the NHAA is looking for any parents or high school children who are looking for volunteer hours to assist us in preparing the fields for play. Please watch our website and facebook page for real time updates. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to us directly. We appreciate all you do to support youth sports in our community.
